Horn Lab
The laboratory is equipped with standard wet bench and physiology equipment. Specialized items are also used: digital video cameras, behavioral test chambers (home cage, open field, contextual fear conditioning, light-dark box, elevated plus maze, etc.), electrophysiology setups – amplifiers, audio monitors, oscilloscopes, micro-manipulators, stereomicroscopes, fiber optics, stimulators, robotic micromanipulator, patch amplifier, isoflurane vaporizer, stereotaxic apparatus, electronic microinjector.

Hillman Research Pavilion
The Hillman Cancer Center Research Pavilion (180,000 sf) houses the clinical, basic research, and population sciences faculty offices and their research laboratories, and support services. Research laboratories of approximately 90 faculty members and their associates, from a wide variety of University of Pittsburgh academic departments in the Schools of Medicine, Pharmacy, Graduate School of Public Health, and the Faculty of Arts and Sciences are located within the Hillman Cancer Center complex. Scientists include members from the departments of Medicine, Radiation Oncology, Surgery, Pathology, Neurology, Radiology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Psychiatry, Immunology, Cell Biology and Physiology, Radiation Oncology, Microbiology and Molecular Genetics, Pharmacology and Chemical Biology, Radiology, and Environmental and Occupational Health (Graduate School of Public Health).

Core facilities
A large number of shared facilities, several of which are located in the research pavilion, support our work. These include: Animal Facility; Biostatistics Facility; Cancer Biomarkers Facility; Cancer Informatics Services; Cell and Tissue Imaging Facility; Clinical Pharmacology Analytical Facility; Clinical Research Services; Cytometry Facility; In Vivo Imaging Facility [Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Small Animal Imaging], and Tissue and Research Pathology Services; and Glassware Facility.
